Send your design

Already ordered? Email your image as a JPG or PNG attachment to [email protected] with your Stripe order number in the subject line. A real person checks the file and sends you a print confirmation within 24 business hours — production never starts until your design is confirmed.

This page is the second half of your custom mat order. The payment took two minutes; this part takes about three. Here is exactly what to send, how to make it look sharp at 36 inches wide, and what happens after you hit send.

Custom XXL desk mat concept: your own image printed edge to edge on a 36x16 inch stitched mat

Three steps from file to finished mat

1. Place your custom order

If you have not yet, pick your size on the custom desk mat page: the Custom XXL Desk Mat (36x16", $39.99, was $59.99) or the Custom Mouse Pad (10x11.5", $19.99, was $29.99). Checkout runs through Stripe, and your receipt email includes an order number — you will need it in the next step.

2. Email your image with your order number

Send one email to [email protected] with your Stripe order number in the subject line and your image attached as a JPG or PNG. Attach the original file instead of pasting it into the message body — email clients love to shrink inline images. One mat, one image.

3. Get your print confirmation

A human — not a script — opens your file, checks resolution and crop against your mat size, and replies within 24 business hours with either a print confirmation or a specific fix. Only after you are confirmed does your mat go into production.

The zero-risk rule

No validated image, no production. Your payment never auto-triggers a print: if your file is too small, awkwardly cropped, or something we cannot legally print, we email you and sort it out together before anything gets made. And every order stays covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee either way.

Image quality tips: make it sharp at full size

Send a JPG or PNG at least 2,000 px wide for the XXL mat, or 1,000 px wide for the standard pad. Original files beat screenshots every time: a screenshot re-compresses your image and turns fine detail into mud once it is stretched across 36 inches of fabric.

  • Send the original export. Wallpapers, digital art, renders, photos straight off the camera roll — all print well when you send the source file at full resolution.
  • Skip compressed screenshots. Discord, WhatsApp, and most chat apps re-compress images hard. If you screenshot a picture instead of saving it, that quality loss gets printed too.
  • Mind the shape. The XXL mat prints wide — 36x16" is more than twice as wide as it is tall. Landscape images crop naturally; a vertical phone photo will lose its top and bottom. If the crop looks awkward, we flag it in the review instead of guessing.
  • When in doubt, send it anyway. The review costs nothing and the answer arrives within 24 business hours. Worst case, we ask for a better file.
"The number one custom-print killer is a screenshot of a picture instead of the picture itself. Send the original file — a plain phone photo off the camera roll beats a re-saved thumbnail every single time." — Marcus Vega, Setup Lead at Deskforge

What we politely refuse (and why)

Two things: copyrighted characters or logos, because printing them would turn your mat into a counterfeit, and blurry or low-resolution images, because they look worse at 36 inches, not better. In both cases we email you and help you find a file we can actually print with pride.

Copyrighted material. Game art, anime characters, team crests, brand logos — we know this is exactly what some people want on a mat, and the answer is still no. Selling you a counterfeit print puts your order and our store at risk, so we decline politely and suggest alternatives: your own photos, your own artwork, commissioned pieces you hold the rights to, or public-domain art. If Japanese art was the goal, our Japanese desk mat collection scratches that itch with original designs at $39.99.

Blurry or low-resolution files. We will not print a file we already know will disappoint you at full size. Instead of shipping a muddy mat, we reply with what is wrong and how to fix it — a bigger export, a different image, or the smaller pad size where your file still holds up.

Who actually checks your file

Every design lands in a real inbox and gets opened by a real person. That is deliberate: automated checks happily approve files that print terribly. At Deskforge, print review is handled by our setup lead:

Custom design FAQ

What file formats do you accept?

JPG and PNG. Export at the highest quality your app allows and attach the file to your email rather than pasting it inline. If your file is in another format like HEIC, WebP, or PDF, send it anyway and we will tell you whether it converts cleanly.

What happens if my image is too small?

We do not print it and hope. You get a reply within 24 business hours explaining the problem, usually with a fix: send the original file instead of a screenshot, pick a different image, or ask us about moving your order to the smaller 10x11.5-inch pad, where your file may still print sharp.

Can you print copyrighted characters or logos?

No — politely, but firmly. Printing licensed characters, game art, or brand logos would make your mat a counterfeit. Your own photos, your own artwork, commissioned art you hold the rights to, and public-domain art all print without issue.

Is there a deadline to send my design?

No. Your order simply waits until your image arrives and gets confirmed — nothing goes to production without it. If we have not heard from you after a while, we nudge you by email rather than cancel anything.

Can I change my design after the print confirmation?

Before the confirmation, yes: reply to the same email thread with the new file and a short note. After confirmation your mat enters production quickly, so email us immediately and we will try to catch it — once printed, it cannot be changed.

How long until my custom mat arrives?

Once your design is confirmed and printed, shipping is free and takes 7-14 business days. Every order is covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee and paid through secure Stripe checkout.
